Our theme this year, Florida's Habitats, emphasizes the importance of understanding these ecosystems, the species they support, and the challenges they face. Florida is home to some of the most unique and diverse habitats in the United States - from sprawling wetlands to dense forests to sandy beaches. Each habitat plays a crucial role in maintaining the ecological balance while supporting a wide variety of plan and animal species.

For Florida Geo Awareness Week, we will explore the interconnections between these habitats and show students the importance for conservation and sustainable management practices. To support educators in bringing this theme to life in the classroom, a variety of educational resources are available.
